Help us bring Tango Maestra Alicia Pons back to North America in 2026!

Alicia is a highly respected master of Milonguero Style Tango, who lives and teaches in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Those who have worked with her know that her teaching technique, personal warmth, and dedication to her students are unequaled.
Alicia has immersed herself in the Milonguero Style Tango community for the last 35 years. She was able to know, and feel the dance of, the best of the Milongueros, in the prime of their lives as dancers. This experience formed the foundation of her teaching style, and hers is a pedagogy that expands far beyond the physical steps and technique of the dance. Her teaching begins with how we are both in our bodies, and with ourselves: an approach that starts from the inside and leads us into an authentic engagement with the Tango. Through her work, she aims to show us how to find our own “home” in our body, and our own feelings in the dance, and then to dance from this experience.
It takes more than two to Tango!
So many of us have studied with her during her North American tours in the past. So many of us wish to continue this journey with her! For many years now, Alicia has been unable to return to the United States to teach us, due to the high cost of obtaining a visa and travelling here.
We are planning to bring Alicia Pons back to the States, to teach workshops throughout the US, in April-May 2026. She will teach workshops in Seattle WA, Chicago IL, Santa Fe NM, Durham NC, Atlanta GA, and in Canada in Vancouver BC.
If we can successfully raise $8000 USD, the majority of Alicia's immediate visa, legal and travel costs for a 2026 Teaching Tour will be covered, and she will once again be able to visit North America and share her unparalleled knowledge and unique gifts with us!
Your donations will help to pay for Alicia's:
- work visa application fees
- legal fees to process the visa
- airfare to/from the USA
- travel costs while teaching in the USA
By helping us bring Alicia to the US and Canada, you have the opportunity to learn from this undisputed master of the Tango Milonguero, without having to travel internationally! Anything that you give will help us make this dream a reality, even the cost of a fancy cup of coffee!

We are her friends and devoted students: Dvora Kanegis, Liz Haight, Alicia Rico-Lazarowski, and Danny Rondeau.
