Help Bring Alee Vang Home to His Wife and Seven Children

Today, Alee Vang is thousands of miles away from the only home he has known for the last 30 years. Brooke, his American wife, and their seven American children are living each day without him, praying for the moment they can be reunited as a family.

Your donation will help cover the legal fees and expenses necessary to fight for Alee's return to his home in the United States. Any additional funds will support his efforts to teach English to children in three remote villages in Laos by providing books, school supplies, and educational materials.

A Story of Sacrifice

Alee's story began long before he came to America. His father fought alongside the US during the Secret War in Laos during the Vietnam War. He gave his life for the American cause, leaving Alee and the family to spend years in a refugee camp in Thailand. In 1994, Alee legally entered the US seeking the safety and opportunity that his father had sacrificed so much to defend. For the next three decades, America was his home.

He built a life, married Brooke, raised seven children, while working 24 years for a medical implant manufacturer. Like many people, Alee made mistakes when he was young. But he turned his life around and lived as a law-abiding, hardworking husband, father, employee, and member of his community. To prove it, the State of Michigan officially recognized his rehabilitation and expunged his criminal record in 2021.

When It All Changed

In November 2025, Alee was detained after reporting to what he believed was a routine ICE check-in appointment in Grand Rapids, MI. He was denied legal representation during the process and ultimately deported to Laos. This is a country he barely recognizes. Alee has been stripped of everything familiar to him—his home, his family, his support system. Compounding these difficulties his Hmong heritage puts him in daily peril.

Alee also suffers with diabetes and hypertension. During detention in the US, Alee experienced serious medical errors and has since struggled to get the necessary care for his conditions in Laos.

Even in Hardship, He Continues to Give

Alee’s compassion and determination have never stopped. Rather than giving in to despair, he has chosen to focus on serving others. He began teaching English to children in three villages in Laos. What began as an effort to help a small number of children has continued to grow, with more children joining every day through word of mouth. His determination to give back and make a difference demonstrates that even in difficult circumstances, one person can have a meaningful and lasting impact on an entire community.
