THE REFLECTION OF AN ARTIST’S CONNECTION TO HIS COUNTRY OF BIRTH

• Broadway acclaimed artist “Duain Richmond” will take you on an immersive experience as he accounts his life from Sierra Leone to America in his one man musical production, ACROSS DA WATERS. This 3-act production takes you into a world that celebrates the beauty in humble beginnings and the journey to find one’s truth and purpose through songs, storytelling and monologues, accompanied by a live band and three vocalists to complete the ensemble. The production will also be filmed as part of a documentary that follow the journey back home.

 

“For as long as I can remember, Sierra Leone has always been

a place of beauty and inspiration to me. There’s magic in

the simplicity of life there, and I wanted to tell my story to not

only bring awareness of that magic I experienced as a young

boy, but also to bring some awareness to the impact of what

Civil War and the Ebola epidemic did after I left. In telling my

story through Across Da Waters, I hope to inspire everyone

to keep that magic no matter where the journey of life brings

us.”
