Die Kosten für Illustrator, Layout und ISBN habe ich vollständig selbst getragen. Jetzt möchte ich 50 Bücher drucken, einige spenden und eine Lesung in Tansania organisieren. Help Bring a Children's Book to Life – Empowering Stories, Black Representation & Literacy in Tanzania

Where are the stories where Black children are naturally and joyfully represented?

I knew I want to contribute to this. So the question turned into action — and now into a nearly finished children’s book that empowers kids to believe in themselves, discover their strengths and develop strong social skills like empathy, kindness, and acceptance.

Together with an incredibly talented illustrator from Tanzania, I created a bilingual English-Swahili picture book starring three Black kids on everyday adventures that reveal their “superpowers” — not flying or magic, but things like courage, helping others and standing up for what’s right.

Why I need your help now:

The book is ready for print. My dream is to make it accessible and affordable for families in Tanzania, and donate copies to school libraries — so more children can grow up feeling seen and inspired.

What your support will fund:

• ‍Illustrator: 550 €

• Designer for layout: 250 €

• Costs for Tanzanian book reading event and release (ISBN registration fee, books, crafts, event organisation etc…): 250 €

I’ve covered most of the costs so far on my own. But with your help, I can share this book more widely, especially before my trip to Tanzania this summer.
