Brigitte Fights Back
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Elliott and I'm fundraising for my cousin Brigitte Baki-Ta'u in PNG. This is her story:
Each month brings its own challenges, joys, trials and tribulations. September 2023 will go down in my history as the month that changed my life forever. It brought me news that I truly thought I would never have to deal with and that is that I have breast cancer. After five weeks of hospital visits, I am grateful that I have finally registered as a cancer patient at PomGen Cancer Center and am scheduled to begin chemotherapy this month.
Chemotherapy, thankfully, is available in PNG at Port Moresby General Hospital. It is radiotherapy that is currently unavailable in the country. Radiotherapy works hand-in-hand with chemotherapy to battle cancer cells. This is the treatment I will need, after chemo. My only option is to go overseas for the treatment. Current estimates from hospitals that I've engaged with overseas, charge between K60,000.00 and K100,000.00 for treatment. We have started fundraising activities to try and meet this cost. We will be hosting a few fundraising events, starting with 'ShaveItOff' on Monday 30th October, followed by a Family Fun Day and a dance (will update you on dates for these events). If you are able to contribute or would like to make a donation, you can contact me on 7350 4470 or Cholai Ta'u Cholai R Ta'u on 7028 0099 or Carolyne Baki KeRol Ina on 7082 7992.
My journey has only begun. The road ahead will be challenging, especially for my family and close friends. I dare not ask for myself, I ask that if you can contribute do it for my children. I dare not ask for myself, but if you do pray, pray for my children and pray for my parents and pray for my siblings, my nieces, my nephews and my close friends.
In God I trust and believe and only through His will and grace I will be healed.
In advance, I say thank you friends for your support.
