Brighton Marathon for Keep Me Breathing
Donation protected
My name is Ryan and thank you for visiting my Gofundme page. My close friends James and Steph have a beautiful son called Casper who was born with Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome (CCHS).
CCHS is an extremely rare genetic condition, affecting 1500 people worldwide, which causes sufferers to lose their automatic control of the most basic living function. Breathing. This is always the case when asleep but for some sufferers when awake too. This means that Casper has to have artificial life support when he sleeps and must be watched by someone for every sleeping minute.
The challenge I have set myself is to run the Brighton Marathon. 26.2 miles of non-stop running. What will likely be 4 hours of trudging around the streets of Brighton & Hove with the aim of raising money for my friends charity, Keep Me Breathing.
The charities mission is to find new treatments to improve and save the lives of people diagnosed with CCHS. They are building The Breathing Pacemaker. The first new treatment for CCHS in 50 years.
