The Common Goodness Project provides support to adults who work with LGBTQ+ youth. We know that the long winter break can be a difficult time for LGBTQ+ youth. There are more expectations to spend time with family, including extended family, and less time with friends. It can be a season of joy. It can also be a time of hiddenness, isolation, and sadness.

This year, we are collaborating with public schools across the North Sound region (Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, Island, and San Juan counties) to provide care packages to LGBTQ+ youth. Our goal is to create 50 packages. With insight and guidance from the CGP youth advisory board, we are filling these packages with hot chocolate packets, Skittles, chocolates, friendship bracelets, nail polish, wellness journals (donated already!), coloring books (donated already!), and a note of love and encouragement from a local supporter.

We know this doesn't fix what it feels like to live in an unsupportive home during a time of expectation. Our hope is to send the message that there are many, many people who know, who care, and who celebrate all that this young person is and is becoming.
