Hi everyone, my name is Anthony Nawi, I’m 19 years old, and I’m currently studying at Aiyura Aircraft Maintenance Engineering school in the Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea.
I’ve always dreamed of working with aircraft—of understanding how they fly, how they work, and how I can help keep them safe, and maybe one day fly them. That dream brought me to Aiyura, one of the few places in PNG where young people like me can begin their journey into aviation engineering.
But today, I find myself standing at a crossroads.
Due to personal and family circumstances beyond my control, I am completely on my own when it comes to paying for my education. My parents and extended family are unable to support me financially, and right now, I don’t have the funds to pay my school fees. If I can't settle these fees within the next two months, I risk being suspended from school—possibly indefinitely.
In addition to my tuition, I also need to pay for my CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) exams, which are a crucial step toward becoming a licensed aircraft engineer. There are six exams or more I must sit, each with its own fee. Plus, I also need to cover basic living expenses like food and accommodation while I study.
The total amount I'm hoping to raise will go directly toward:
- Full payment of school fees
- CASA exam fees
- Basic living expenses (food, accommodation, transportation, and study materials)
This isn’t just about staying in school—it’s about keeping my future alive. Being sent home now would mean losing precious time, momentum, and possibly my place in the program altogether.
I’ve worked hard to get here. I’ve sacrificed a lot, and I’m ready to give everything I have to finish what I started. But right now, I need your help more than ever.
Every kina, every dollar, every small gift adds up and brings me closer to my goal. Even if you’re not able to contribute financially, sharing my story can make a difference too.
If I can stay in school and complete my training, I’ll be one step closer to becoming an aircraft engineer—and one day, I hope to give back by helping other young Papua New Guineans chase their dreams, just like mine.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. With your support, I know I can keep flying toward my future.
God bless you all.
Anthony Nawi.
