Hi! My name is Briella Matsumoto, and I'm a Junior studying Civil Engineering at California State University, Long Beach. I am journeying this upcoming Spring 2015 to the University of Limerick in Ireland for a life-changing experience! I'm seeking your support, which will be a way for you to help me change the world we live in for the better!

By taking this unique opportunity, I plan to learn how civil engineering--the universal study of making the world around us a more pleasant and satisfying place to live--is practiced on the other side of the world. Through formative civil engineering design and construction experiences in Ireland, I believe your contribution may one day help me impact the design and safety of bridges here in the U.S., formulate efficient traffic flow, or treat waste water more effectively. Even more than expanding my view of civil engineering, this trip to Ireland will expose me to the unique culture of Ireland and of other European countries. We civil engineers serve for the good of the whole world; so blending with others in their society and seeing how they think, live, and solve problems will help me improve the quality of life wherever I serve society.
