Bridging the Gap of Wellness & Culture
WHO WE ARE
Urban Sanctuary, the only Black-women owned and operated wellness studio in Colorado. You can find us in the historical Five Points in Denver.
WHAT WE NEED
HOW WE WILL USE THE FUNDS
We will use these funds to not only buy the building we are currently housed in and restore a piece of Black history, this will allow us to dedicate all of our time and resources implementing our mission far beyond our local neighborhood.
Keeping this building within the Black community to be used for health and wellness. With a big-hearted vision as this, we come forth asking for your support to bring it to life.
*The building purchase price is $551K, and we are asking you to help where possible
*No amount is ever too small and we accept any form of acknowledgment with an open heart.
*The deadline for purchase is April 2022
Your donation will be an active part of the success of Urban Sanctuary, our programs, and our ability to continue our mission as we strive to preserve the neighborhood and our history.
What began as a simple desire to help the historical Five Points neighborhood in Denver, CO, grew to a deep awareness of the privilege and power we now hold to bring soul-healing wellness to the area.
Our mission and vision is to support the ever-evolving growth of the wellness community through purpose, education, and Love. We are working to encourage health and wellness through yoga, meditation, workshops, and breathwork, and for all to become an accessible and natural part of the marginalized community.
Urban Sanctuary has been in the Douglas Building for five years and we are honored to now have the opportunity to invest within our historically Black community.
We now have the opportunity to purchase our building and expand our reach and we are so excited about this!
Urban Sanctuary has intentionally created a platform that prioritizes minority teachers and practitioners in an effort to embody freedom of speech and personal autonomy. We believe change begins at the root of our students’ and teachers' experiences, which creates a space for everyone to feel seen, heard, and represented.
Our goal is not to run a business but to grow a global community. In order to achieve this, we created a non-profit organization in 2020 to support this mission: Urban Sanctuary Non-Profit.
We are deeply grateful for your support, and know that your contribution will continue to serve many others who will benefit from the power of yoga, meditation, community, and healing an underserved yet much-deserved community!
We Love you. Thank you
