If you or someone you know is struggling with depression, anxiety or any other kind of mental illlness we can provide two of the most effective treatment options free of charge.
We’re fundraising to be able to pay our counsellors for as many sessions as possible and to contribute to the rental of the therapy rooms. Sadly despite this being effective evidence based treatment for mental illness, securing public funding is a lengthy and tricky process.
I founded Bridging the Gap after being signed off work with severe anxiety, I felt like I fell down a gap between the care services.
I couldn’t return to work without some kind of help. I reached out to all the usual services but was met with waitlists and “self help” leaflets.
Slowly but surely I felt myself slipping further and further away from any chance of returning to normal.
The service we offer aims to stop people falling down the same cracks I did. We’re trying to help people get back in control and get back on track before they require intensive medical intervention. Our exercise sessions are tailored to people who are struggling and can either be 1-1 or small group sessions. We outsource our counselling services to the local therapists at SWaNS CIC and they provide one sessions per week to each user for 6 weeks, we’d love to be able to fund more sessions for those who need it.
