Bridgette Steffen Living Expense
Donation protected
On August 10th, a derecho storm with the destruction power of a hurricane hit the state of Iowa incredibly hard. Cedar Rapids has been declared a disaster zone and Bridgette and her daughter Regan's home was one of the hardest hit homes in her neighborhood. They were together in the home when a very large, mature tree crushed the roof and crashed through to the inside of the home. They were able to escape safely, however, the damage incurred is overwhelming. Because of the amount of Cedar Rapids residents affected it is unknown when an insurance adjuster will be able to make it out to assess the damage and file a claim. Bridgette's been told it could take upwards of a year before she will be able to have all repairs done and reside back in the home. Currently, Bridgette and Regan are living an hour and a half away with family until temporary housing can be secured. With school starting soon and other activities Regan is involved in, this is not a convenient option. We are asking to please donate anything you can to help with living expenses Bridgette will incur while she is displaced yet still responsible for the current mortgage, new rent, replacement of household furniture and items.
