My goal and passion is to be a positive role model and leader for females.
Our world is experiencing many challenges. Climate change. Leadership changes. Underserved populations. War. Famine. Chaos. My hope is that I can become a strong and influential leader in my community, nationally and globally.
My goal is to enhance my leadership skills and make a meaningful impact to the healthcare and local community. To do this, I became a recent graduate of the leadership program Homeward Bound, a global transformative leadership initiative.
Homeward Bound's aim is by 2036 to create 10,000 women with a background in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine) the skills, mindset, capability and community to lead with influence and impact. As Homeward Bound leaders, we make a pact to be visible, and to be collaborative leaders who will impact the decisions made internationally for the greater good.
This is a small but meaningful contribution to a very complex challenge we all face.
Homeward Bound was founded to create a global network of women with a background in STEMM leading and able to solve our world’s greatest challenges. The program achieves this through the delivery of a unique leadership development program that seeks to change the current leadership model by equipping STEMM women from around the world with the skills to lead for the greater good, to be inclusive, collaborative, legacy-minded, and trusted with assets.
Each graduating cohort becomes part of a global network of like-minded women and non-binary people committed to demonstrating, as individuals and together, a model of leadership that will influence outcomes for everyone towards a healthier planet, and a sustainable future for us all.
Through personal financial contributions, I have been able to complete the first phase of this 12 month virtual program alongside 100+ women in science from around the globe. The program is underpinned by four key themes: Leadership, Strategy, Visibility & Science Communication. The first phase of the program has provided a unique insight into how women across diverse STEMM fields approach complex problems and the role that leadership plays in creating a sustainable future.
The next and final phase of the program is a 14-day leadership voyage to Antarctica in Jan-Feb, 2025. With Antarctica as the background, the leadership trip aims to provide the unique opportunity for 108 women to collaborate, learn and practice our own leadership in a remote and challenging environment.
It is my strong hope that by connecting, listening, and problem-solving with these women in this setting, we will be able to come up with innovative and creative solutions to improve outcomes local, national, and globally. rural and regional communities.
That's where I am sincerely and passionately asking for your help.
Help me continue to develop my leadership skill set of empowering powerful and brave women to become leaders!
Join me in being a catalyst for change and empowering Women in Science who are shaping a sustainable future for all. The last stage of the program requires a total of $18,000, and I am personally committing $5,000. By contributing to my leadership journey, you will directly support a worldwide community of talented women who are making a meaningful difference. Help me achieve my fundraising target by making a donation today.
Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a tangible impact. I am very grateful for any support. Supporting women to become leaders is incredibly important.
Please also feel free to repost my fundraiser or consider offering suggestions on organizations I can potentially reach out to. All tips and suggestions are welcome. And thank you again for your support. It is greatly appreciated!
