Bridget's Dream: Nursing After Amputation

My name is Brooke Winrgeart and I am praying that we all come together as a community and support Bridget Thompson and her precious family Anders and Laura Thompson. Bridget is 24 years old and began having complications a couple weeks ago where her vital organs were shutting down and she had a blister on her ankle. After seeking medical treatment she was diagnosed with a rare flesh eating bacteria that began to spread up her leg causing severe infection and wounds. The doctors did everything in their power to contain the bacteria however it was so aggressive it began spreading up her leg. After medical guidance and much prayer it was decided she would have to make the decision for a below the knee amputation to save her life and retain as much of her leg as possible. Bridget is so young and a nurse along with her mom Laura! The decision was made and she had the procedure performed a couple of days ago! Her dream is to continue nursing!!! This road will be a hard long road for her but she is so strong and determined! I am asking you to search your hearts and help this sweet family with costs for a prosthesis that will allow her to continue her dream of being a nurse, home repairs to make the home suitable for when Bridget is released and other medical expenses.
