Hi, my name is Bridget. At work on the morning of October 3rd, while at the station getting ready for the day of service, I had a seizure. I am a type 1 diabetic and my blood sugar had dipped dangerously low due to stress, which then caused my seizure. I was taken to the hospital and was admitted for three days. During my stay I had several medical tests done to cover all the bases. One of those tests was an MRI of my brain. Upon review, the neurologist came to speak with me and informed me that a cluster of tumors were found. I will be having subsequent MRIs to track growth of those tumors and to determine a path moving forward for a more specific diagnosis and treatment. Because of my seizure, Texas law states I am unable to drive for the next three months, which means I am unable to carry my route. Due to this and due to my medical state, I am required to be on light duty and cannot work my normal amount of hours. I was also out of work for three weeks without pay, which has put a great deal of stress on my family. I am reaching out to my family and friends for any amount of help possible. This is such unfortunate timing, because of the upcoming holidays and because three out of five of our immediate family member’s birthdays fall during the months of October and November. I appreciate my beautiful community and I really, really miss my route and servicing my work family. Thank you so much for your help and my coworkers have told me of all the concern and well wishes.
Anything you could donate to my GoFundMe fundraiser would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
So much appreciation and love,
Bridget
