Hi! We are Sophia Murillo and Sophia Salazar, two seniors at Millikan High School, reaching out to our community for support. Being raised in Latino households, we have become increasingly aware of the disparities our community faces on a daily basis. Catalyzed by our commitment to co-designing a solution to these inequities, we have generated Bridges for C.A.H.R.E (Creating Accessible Healthcare Resources for Everyone).

Our mission is to raise awareness of healthcare access disparities faced by low-income Latino immigrants and to collaborate with established clinics in Calexico to mobilize resources that ease the burden on families seeking care in the United States.

All the earnings from this GoFundMe will go towards creating our “Kits for Kids”. These care kits will include resources that are essential to supporting families whose children are receiving treatment. There will be a balance between personal hygiene items, including but not limited to toothbrushes, deodorant, and body wash, while also incorporating means for entertainment like coloring supplies and activity workbooks. These donations will provide them with the essentials they need to thrive.
