On July 9, 2018 the Pulver family got some terrible news that explained the pain their Bridger has been having in his knee. They were told Bridger has osteosarcoma-cancer in his knee bone. On July 10, they made their way to Rochester, MN to start various tests on July 11 to better figure out the direction to go as far as treatment. At his first appointment, the doctor did an MRI and determined that he didn't think it was osteosarcoma, but rather a aneurysmal bone cyst, a benign cyst, within his knee. The doctor cancelled most of Bridger's tests this week. There is, however, a chance that it could be a rare form of cancer. To rule out cancer, a biopsy is scheduled for tomorrow (July 12). It'll take about 10-14 days for results. Assuming the biopsy rules out cancer, Bridger was told they would need to have surgery at Mayo due to the surgery itself being pretty involved. They are incredibly hopeful after the emotional roller coaster they've been riding the last few days. At this time, they request continued prayers for the biopsy to come back clear so they can move forward with surgery and rehabilitation. They are surely going to incur medical bills as well as costs associated with travel and having to be displaced from their home for the time being. Let’s show them some support and lift them up in prayers.
Anyone that knows this amazing family knows they do many things together. They work hard, worship and share many laughs. In addition, they enjoy camping, fishing, hunting and various other outdoor recreational activities together. Every member of their family has a whitty sense of humor, strong work ethics and would jump at the chance to pitch in to get any job done.
The Pulvers have some tough battles ahead of them, but we all know they will win this war! Let’s help them out so they can concentrate on getting Bridger in better health and back in the fishing boat, on the football field, paddling the kayak, in the hunting blind...you get the picture.
Bridger Pulver (age 16) is the son of Chris and Alecia and brother to Autumn. The Pulvers reside in Stanley, ND.
