Close family friends of ours are facing an urgent and deeply distressing situation.
After navigating a prolonged immigration process in good standing, increasing instability and safety concerns made it no longer viable for them to remain in the United States. They made the difficult decision to relocate to Mexico in order to stabilize and regroup.
Shortly after relocating, there was a significant escalation of organized violence in their region. During this period, a member of the family was abducted at knife-point and held for several hours before being released after a ransom was paid.
THANKFULLY he was returned safely. We are profoundly grateful for that. Unfortunately the danger and trauma are still very real. For their protection, we cannot share names, locations, or specific identifying details. We know them personally and love them very much.
They are currently sheltering in place while preparing to relocate to a safer region within Mexico over the next two months. During this time, they are unable to work consistently and must prioritize safety.
We are raising these funds to help temporarily cover lost income:
- Basic living expenses while sheltering in place
- Relocation and transportation support
Our goal for this money is to provide a stable bridge over the next two months while they secure long-term safety. They cannot organize this campaign themselves due to security concerns, so we are managing it on their behalf.
They are hardworking, community-centered individuals who have done everything possible to navigate their circumstances responsibly. This is simply a moment where community support can provide stability, dignity, and protection.
If you feel moved to contribute, we are deeply grateful. If you are unable to give, please consider sharing privately within trusted circles.
For safety reasons, we respectfully ask that this campaign not be shared publicly on open social media platforms. Thank you for helping create safety during an incredibly vulnerable time.
