This is one of those things no one ever imagines having to write. Asking for help doesn’t come naturally to me. I’ve always worked, pushed through, and tried to handle things on my own. But right now, my life has taken a turn I never could have prepared for.

After 28 years of being “the sick kid,” the one who caught everything, broke bones easily, slept constantly, and ended up hospitalized from things that barely affected other people, I finally received an answer. I was diagnosed with a rare genetic immune disorder called GATA2 deficiency. It explains my entire life of illness. It also changes my future.

GATA2 means my immune system doesn’t function the way it should. My body cannot protect itself the way most people’s can. This condition puts me at high risk for life-threatening infections, bone marrow failure, and leukemia. I am now a clinical patient at the National Institutes of Health, and I am working closely with a transplant team. The goal is a bone marrow transplant—the only known cure.

I am grateful to finally have answers. I am thankful to have doctors who know what’s happening to my body. But I am also terrified. This road is long, intense, and unpredictable. Between ongoing testing, travel to NIH, treatment, and eventually transplant, I am medically unable to work. My immune system is essentially nonexistent, and exposure alone can put me in the hospital.

That reality has created a heavy financial burden.

I have bills that don’t stop just because my body did. Rent. Utilities. Groceries. Gas. Phone. Insurance. Basic living expenses. I’ve applied for disability, but that process takes time—time I don’t have when monthly bills still arrive.

This GoFundMe is not about comfort or extras. It is about survival and stability while I fight for my life.

Every dollar raised will go toward:
• Rent and utilities
• Groceries and basic necessities
• Transportation to medical appointments
• Household bills while I am unable to work
• Creating a small cushion so I can focus on healing instead of panicking every month

Right now, my full-time job is staying alive. It is showing up to appointments. It is preparing my body for transplant. It is protecting myself from infections that could be fatal. It is enduring a process that will take months and change everything.

If you know me, you know I love deeply. I’m a fiancée. A stepmom. A daughter. A friend. I have so many plans for my future—my wedding, my family, my life. I want to be here for all of it. This fundraiser is a bridge between where I am and the future I’m fighting for.

If you are able to donate, please know that it means more than I can put into words. If you cannot donate, sharing this or simply sending love is just as meaningful. Every bit of support reminds me that I’m not walking this road alone.

Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. Thank you for helping me keep going.
