Dear friends of Debi and Marko,
As most of you know, Debi suffered a devastating intracranial hemorrhagic stroke in October. Since then her recovery has been remarkable and steady. Even with this progress that we are so grateful for, Debi requires 24-hour care. The surgery to re-attach the portion of her skull, removed at the time of the stroke to relieve pressure, has been postponed as non-essential surgeries have been cancelled to make room for Corona Virus patients. We can’t imagine what it would be like to be in their shoes.
We are writing because their financial situation has become very difficult.
They need our help.
Marko is unable to work consistently as Debi needs his care. They have applied for social security and disability. They are hopeful for this financial help in the future. Medical insurance is very helpful but does not cover everything.
They need help to pay their bills - mostly rent, food and homecare.
Since October, many generous friends have contributed over $23,000. which has gone to home care, rent, utilities and to keep Debi’s Salon afloat. Both Debi and Marko are so grateful for this incredible help. The huge outpouring of love from their friends has given them hope and strength.
We are launching today’s Go Fund Me effort to get these two inspirational friends through to July. They need about 6k per month to cover costs.
Our goal is to raise a three-month financial bridge of $18,000.
We know these are tough times for many. Please give what you can.
