Bridge Through to Major Music Career Breakthrough
Donation protected
Hi my name is Tim Murdoch and I've been a professional musician known as TJ James for over 30 years and have performed over 2000 shows, and supported national acts in Australia.
I also graduated in November of 2023 from The Australian Institute Of Music with a diploma and bachelors degree in composition and production.
I have also obtained professional management
I was born with Cerebral Palsy and have released 9 records of my own material.
I also work hand in hand with The Cerebral Palsy Alliance who help me to promote my music and receive 20-30% from my digital music sales and streams.
It is my goal to inspire others living with disabilities that "Anything's Possible"
I play keyboards and sing and although I am an artist, it is my life's passion to become a professional pop/rock commercial songwriter and write for known and up and coming artists
I love songwriting more than breathing.
The main reason I release my music is to raise money and awareness for cerebral palsy charitable organisations but also to have a body of work available for other artists and music publishing companies to be able to listen to and to pitch to them to record.
Most of my releases have been produced for little to no money and in particular my last four releases up to 2023 have been recorded at home.
Recently I have had the opportunity to write and collaborate on a single with a famous Australian Singer Songwriter, producer and top session musicians from Nashville called "That's What Love Can Do".
The reaction to the song has been very positive and it has been a major step up for me in terms of production.
The same producer is trying to open up doors for me in terms of music publishing opportunities and it is believed by my team that if we can produce an EP of songs to an industry level gold standard it will really give me the best chance of achieving my dream and having my material showcased at it's fullest potential.
But to work with this level of producer, songwriter and session musicians will cost a significant amount of money and certainly more than I have available.
It is also true that I have never had a promotional budget for any of my previous material and we want to budget 20% of the amount for any touring and publicity
It should also be noted that this campaign is only one aspect of a 3 pronged approach that we are undertaking to raise the $25,000 needed for the EP, the other two ways we are looking to raise these funds are
1, NSW Arts Grant Funding
2, Benefit shows in NSW clubs
It should also be noted that should we obtain the funding from another source then all funds raised in this campaign will be returned to the donors.
