The United States suffers from a vast lack of African American representation, which poses significant nuances for healthcare equity and access. Currently, African Americans make up roughly around 13% of the U.S population but represent only about 5% of physicians which makes up only one factor of the medical field just imagine everything else. This imbalance is concerning for many reasons such as lack of representation in the workplace, trust & relations,educational barriers, and diversity. We strive to aid and unify communities by presenting African American youth with career opportunities and information through Cultural Wave with our medical career program for the youth.
