Bridge the Gap: Help Ebony Finish Nursing School
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ebony, and I’m just two months away from achieving a milestone I’ve fought so hard for: becoming a registered nurse. It’s a goal rooted deeply in personal experience, one that has pushed me to keep going despite overwhelming odds. But today, I find myself in urgent need of support to make it to the finish line.
Three weeks ago, I received unexpected and disheartening news: one of the programs funding my last quarter will not be able to cover my final term as I have reached the max for their program. Because the college I attend is a private college, tuition is higher, and I've already maxed out federal loans and FAFSA support. I've been relentless, applying for scholarships, working multiple jobs, and saving every bit I could. Yet, this news means that I now face a $2,000 gap that must be closed before December 20th, or I won’t be able to complete the program.
Let me tell you why this matters so much. My passion for nursing began in the most vulnerable chapter of my life, when my daughter was born at 24 weeks and spent 84 days in the NICU. Her survival came with a slim 10% chance, and it was the extraordinary nurses—their skill, empathy, and dedication—that kept my hope alive. Watching them work inspired me to pursue nursing, so I could one day be the source of hope and care for others.
However, my journey has never been easy. As a mother balancing full-time work, PRN shifts, and the demands of a rigorous nursing program, I've fought for every moment of this dream, but even my resilience has limits, and that’s why I’m here now—humbly asking for your support.
I thank you in advance!
