Camino and Co, a community-focused wedding and events florist, is super excited to announce ‘Camino Kids,’ a giving fund founded to help bridge the gap in the number of families able to grow and thrive through participation in play- & nature-based programs within our communities.

We’re thrilled to kick off our first Camino Kids fundraising campaign to support a 1-year scholarship for a family needing financial aid to join Maple Playschool. Located in Bloomington, Indiana, Maple Playschool is a play- and nature-based early learning community.

Maple Playschool was founded to make play- and nature-based early childhood education more accessible. As early childhood experts have noted (Jordan 2022; Levin & Van Hoorn 2016), play isn’t equally available to young children from families of different income levels. The MP team has sought to have a part in ensuring that all children grow in environments that nurture love of learning and of the natural world through play.

Since Maple Playschool began caring for children, the program has accepted Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) vouchers, which help low-income families pay for childcare. Unfortunately, the Family and Social Services Administration announced in October of 2025 that they won’t be enrolling any families on the waitlist for CCDF vouchers until 2027. With this assistance out of reach throughout 2026, there’s a need for support from elsewhere.

A contribution of any size to this scholarship fund will be appreciated – and empower a child to learn through play.
