Hi friends, it’s Ruth again (Heather's sister). Many of you have been following Heather and Eric’s journey since his motorcycle accident 8 months ago, and I can’t thank you enough for the incredible love, generosity, and prayers you’ve shown along the way. You’ve truly helped carry them through some of the hardest months of their lives.
Eric has now undergone three major surgeries (with one more still to come) to fight a serious bone infection and save his leg. The doctors have been amazing, but the road to healing is still long. He’ll continue to need specialized care, therapy, and follow-ups over the next several months.
On top of that, Heather is now in her student teaching phase—a full-time requirement for her teaching credential—so she’ll have no income or benefits during this time, a loss of about $2,100 per month. Combined with ongoing medical copays of about $500 per month, they’re facing roughly $2,600 a month in additional expenses over the next six months. That’s a total goal of about $15,600 to help bridge the gap and keep them stable while Eric heals and Heather completes her degree.
So many of you have already given so generously, and we’re deeply grateful for every bit of support, kindness, and prayer. If you feel led to help again—through Venmo or GoFundMe, or even just by sharing their story—we would be so thankful. Every donation, share, and prayer truly makes a difference.
Thank you for continuing to show up for my sister and her family. Your love and support have meant the world.
With love and gratitude,
Ruth Diepersloot (on behalf of Heather & Eric Johns)
