Hello! My name is Les Gaynair and after almost 10 years away, my family (Misty, Nia, and myself) is moving back to Maryland this summer from middle Tennessee. My partner Misty is a teacher and is starting as an elementary school math teacher in the fall for Prince George’s County in Maryland. However, we have hit a snag, as her former school system, Davidson County here in Tennessee, is not paying her through the summer months as expected, but instead giving her a “lump sum” of that money at the end of June. She will also miss a few pay periods in the transition. This was unexpected as she had her pay periods set to run through the summer. So, we’re asking for help to make up for the lost income as we make the move in the coming weeks as she starts the new school year in August.
How will the money donated be used?
$6000 will go to making up for the lost income she would have received between now and mid-August when the Maryland school year starts. Anything over that will go to moving expenses, school supplies, and housing.
Anything you can give would be helpful. If you can’t, that’s okay too, but please spread the word and share around! Anyone who knows me well knows that I have a hard time asking for help, even from friends and family. But this came out of the blue and we could really use a hand.
