Bridge the Digital Divide: Global Internship in London
Hi everyone! My name is Wisdom George, and I have been presented with a life-changing opportunity to take my passion for social impact to the global stage.
I’ve been accepted into the CEA CAPA Global Internship Program in London! This summer, I will be living and studying at the University of East London, immersing myself in a cross-cultural professional environment that will define the next chapter of my career.
My Mission: Inclusive Innovation
I am incredibly honored to have been matched with the Rix Inclusive Research Institute. This organization is at the forefront of digital accessibility, and their mission aligns perfectly with my commitment to advocacy.
At Rix, I will be working directly on developing inclusive digital tools and multimedia advocacy specifically designed for:
People with learning disabilities
Individuals facing mental health challenges
Those living with dementia
The goal isn't just to build software—it's to co-create it. We work with these communities to ensure the technology promotes independence, dignity, and real-world social impact.
Why This Matters
This isn't just a trip; it’s a rigorous professional development program. By working in a fast-paced, international setting like London, I will be:
Developing Transferable Skills:Mastering project management, digital media, and inclusive design.
Gaining Global Perspective: Learning how social advocacy operates outside of a domestic lens.
Building Professional Networks:Connecting with world-class researchers and activists at the University of East London.
How You Can Help
While the opportunity is a dream come true, the costs of international tuition, housing in London, airfare, and daily expenses are significant. My goal is to raise $15000.00 to cover these essential costs.
Your contribution, no matter the size, helps me get one step closer to London and helps the Rix Institute continue its vital work in making the digital world accessible to everyone.

A Sudden Turn of Events
Just as Wisdom was preparing for this life-changing departure, tragedy struck. Over the last few weeks, Wisdom’s mother suffered a major stroke. She is currently partially paralyzed and undergoing intensive rehabilitation at a live-in facility.
With her mother unable to work and the family’s resources rightfully shifted toward medical recovery and rehabilitation, the $15000.00 cost of this career-defining program has become an impossible mountain to climb alone.
Why Wisdom Must Go
Wisdom’s internship isn't just about travel; it’s about inclusive advocacy. At the Rix Institute, she will co-create digital tools for people with learning disabilities and mental health challenges—communities that need advocates now more than ever.
Despite the heartbreak at home, Wisdom remains committed to her education and her brother. This program at the University of East London represents the "professional bridge" that will allow her to secure a future for her family and continue her work in social impact.
