Help the Hammond Family after tragic loss

Donation protected
The Hammond family of Marble Falls, Texas, was driving to camp early on the morning of July 5th. As they left, a flash flood swept through the area and a bridge collapsed as they were crossing Cow Creek. Their car dropped into the rushing water, and only five of the car’s six occupants reached shore safely. Malaya Hammond got swept away in the rapid waters after opening the door for everyone. Tragically, we have learned that she did not survive.

In addition to the loss of their daughter, the Hammond family lost their car, their computers, musical instruments, clothing and other personal effects.

Your donations will help us meet their needs at this tragic time. Thank you for showing your love. Since meals have already been generously provided, this GoFundMe is your best way to help meet their ongoing needs.

Author’s note: Since scammers have already tried to make money from Malaya’s story, I want to share a little background. This GoFundMe is a collaborative project created by close friends from the Hammonds’ church and others gathered at the Hammond home in Marble Falls. All funds will flow directly to the Hammond family.

Laurie and Matt are among the collaborators:
