Brian’s recovery, and lost wages.

Hi, my name is Christina Boettger and I’m setting this fundraiser up for my Dad and Step Mom.

My dad was found on the side of the road in his Semi truck, unconscious and septic. They flew him to a hospital in Reno, where we found out that he has bacterial meningitis, which started from a sinus infection. They hooked up a drain to his brain to relieve pressure and to drain puss out. He is sedated and on a ventilator, they have a blood pressure monitor hooked up and he has a cooling blanket on him due to running a high fever. Their insurance will cover the medical after a $3,000 deductible. It costs $12,000 a night for him to stay in the ICU. The doctors said it would be about 4-7 days of having him sedated.My lovely Step Mom Brenda, had to urgently find a place for their three animals (Maizey, Sophie and FRED). It ended up costing $775 to place them in a kennel service until the 18th. She had to fly down to Reno to be with my Dad. ( not sure how expensive the flight was) She also has to stay in the hospital hotel which costs about $110 per night, she also has to spend money on food while she’s down there with him. She also has to take time off work to be with him.

I want to be able to help them out with the Deductible, hotel night stays, lost wages, food, and transportation. Any little bit will help a lot as we wait for results and see how he does when he comes out of sedation.

Update from my Step mom: This is all really scary. I was just told by the Dr., that without a doubt, Brian will need rehab after he leaves the hospital. He will be moved closer to home to get the rehab there. I don't want to ever be greedy, but Christina is going to raise the goal of the Go Fund Me because I just don't know how financially devastating this could be.

Update: He's still got a ways to go for recovery. Hes had to go through a lot... hes got some short term memory loss, they took him for short walks. Hes lost about 36 lbs. He had to get a breathing tube through his trachea, its since been taken out now. (Sorry for a late update) he has to do speach therapy, physical therapy and OT. He can talk now though its slower and sometimes mixed up. He had his nurses laughing from his humor. Hes on the way to a care facility in Sparks NV. He will have to stay there for 2-3 weeks.
