Brian’s Brain Surgery Recovery

Donation protected
For 3 months Brian had been off and on with headaches more frequent and then the started getting worse, he kept waking up daily with thinking he slept wrong — made a doctors appt with his primary he explained his symptoms and what had been going on. They sent him urgently to get a ct-scan. He got called from his doctor of course it wasn’t anything anyone expected to hear — they received the results and he had a brain tumor. They advised him to go to the hospital as soon as he could so that he could be pushed for rushed MRI as it was hard to get an appt right away with an outpatient Neurologist. Once at the hospital he was admitted and wouldn’t be released until an MRI had been completed.

While admitted Neurologist came in and advised how serious this was and went over options as there was no way around surgery he would have to go through with surgery or it would continue to grow and cause severe issues throughout the rest of his life. The diagnosis is a Vestibular Schwannoma. These tumors are benign but can cause damage due to the size they can grow to be. That is how his family come to find out he had this tumor originally.

Surgery was March 3rd, he was in surgery for 13hrs. They were able to remove 80% of the tumor however, this road ahead is uncertain and has no time frame set for recovery. Once he recovers from surgery, will determine the full course of treatment, such as: occupational/physical therapy, speech therapy— radiation is a huge possibility as there is still some of the tumor there they couldn’t remove it all

If you know Brian, you know he has a heart of gold. He’s the guy who always greets you with a warm smile, the one who has a huge heart and goes above and will give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, he goes above and beyond for anyone, jokes and pokes to make you laugh. He is a devoted husband to his wife Erica, a loving father to three amazing kids (ages 8, 8, and 15) and a man who has built the best life. This news took a family of amazing people and turned it upside down — while they are holding on to hope, his family and him are also facing immense challenges ahead.

No one should have to walk this path. As they navigate this overwhelming journey, we want to do everything we can to lift some of the burden. If you feel led, please consider donating to help ease the financial strain of medical expenses, travel costs, and time away from work. Every prayer, every kind word, and every donation means the world to him and his family.

We will keep everyone updated as we walk the hardest days of healing together. Thank you for your continued love and unwavering support.
