A Go-Fund-Me Appeal for My Son
When my son Brian was diagnosed with Stage III cancer ,my world stopped. I had already lost my mother—Brian’s grandmother—to colon cancer. Two years later, I lost my husband—Brian’s father—to Cholangiocarcinoma (a rare liver cancer). When Brian told me he had cancer, all of that pain came flooding back. The fear, the helplessness, the heartbreak—it never really leaves.
And now, we’re living it all over again.
Brian began treatment with chemotherapy and radiation. When treatment ended, his private insurance was abruptly canceled.
He has been denied Social Security Disability. He doesn’t qualify for Medicaid. And the cost of a policy under the Affordable Care Act is simply unaffordable.
He’s been without health insurance. There have been no follow-up scans, no ongoing treatment, and no preventative care. His past medical bills are overwhelming, and his condition is being neglected—not by choice, but by circumstance.
Brian is my only close family member, I live with him. As a family, we’ve exhausted our resources. We simply can’t do it alone anymore.
Brian is a good man—smart, kind, and quietly brave. He’s spent his adult life working in law enforcement and security, dedicating himself to protecting others.
Now, he needs someone to stand up for him.
Funds raised will go toward:
- Updated testing and preventative care
- A prescription drug plan
- Living expenses
Any donation, no matter the size, will help us move closer to getting Brian the care he urgently needs.
And if you’re not in a position to give, sharing this message—or keeping us in your prayers—is a gift we will never forget.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. And thank you for helping a mother fight to save her son.
With love and gratitude,
Patricia
