Brian's Asylum Relief

Donation protected
Feb 19, 2016 was the day Brian's life changed. Brian identifies as a pansexual, non-conforming male. His sexuality was exposed in his home country of Jamaica and forced into drug trafficking. After being arrested at the airport, he fought for his freedom for two years and won his immigration case. However, it was quickly appealed by the District Attorney’s office. The appeal was granted and now he has to fight for Convention Against Torture (CAT), or proof to America that he isn’t safe in Jamaica because of his sexual orientation. We are asking you to help him with his living expenses while he awaits a response from the government on his work authorization.

Without a social security number, it is virtually impossible to have an income in the United States. It’s been five years and Brian has been dependent on the few family members in his corner and friends he’s made along the way. Being unauthorized to work has greatly impeded his ability to be stable. Thus, Brian has been a victim of abuse and violence. He was attacked at Union Square Park on the 6th of July, 2018, and rendered homeless as a result of abuse and neglect. He is still unable to work and pay for housing, food and basic health necessities.

Very smart and well spoken, he’s an artist by heart with a passion for dance. Those who know Brian will quickly tell you how he lights up a room, strives to make those around him happy, and loves whole-heartedly. He believes that everyone should be loved. We are asking you to help him along his journey. The funds collected here will be put towards his safety, health, hygiene, medical and living expenses, food, and bills. Brian has brightened our hearts. Let’s lighten his load. Please donate and share if you feel moved to do so.
