Brianna's Dream

Hello friends As many of you know, I am a trans woman who's been transitioning over 2 years and I have some really great news to share with all of you! On December 16th, 2019, I will undergo my gender reassignment surgery. This is a huge deal to me and since introducing Brianna to you all, will definitely be the biggest part of my journey thus far. While most things have been working out and falling into place, there are a few things that I still need.  Up to this point I have shouldered most of my transition myself with doctor visits, therapy appointments, my prescription hormones, electrolysis, laser therapy, replacing my entire wardrobe and beauty needs. It has been very hard at times to maintain it all and have had to sell a lot of my personal belongings, including some of my musical instruments that meant the world to me. I thought that I could get through the entire process all on my own and I'm very proud of everything I have been able to accomplish so far but there is still so much to do and prepare for and I realize that I can't do everything myself. they say at times it takes a village in that time for me is now. I need you to help and I'm asking for as much as I can get from all of you. My insurance does cover my surgery and I will be on FMLA with income continuation insurance but unfortunately, I am finding out that it will not cover all of my living expenses as I recover. In fact the insurance will only give me 75% of my salary which will not be enough to cover everything. Any assistance that I receive will go towards supplementing my income while I am on leave from work. Things such as rent, utilities, post-op expenses, not to mention giving my kids a proper holiday this year. I am being told that I will need to plan to be out of work for three months as I recover and as my expenses pile up will make it very difficult for me to ensure I can do this theright way. Up to this point I have seen a lot of really great things come out of a lot of really great people,including many people that I never would have thought cared. Many of you have reached out to me from afar to show support and have encouraged me to ask for your support which is not an easy thing to do. Your thoughts, prayers and words of encouragement has given me hope that I will be able to achieve all of my goals. The emotional support alone has been one of the most overwhelming things that I've experienced in my life and gives me great hope for us as humans that love will overcome hate. A lot of you that have talked to me personally know that I am a proud transgender woman and all of you have accepted me as the woman that I am. I promise not to disappoint any of you! You all have become so very important to me even in the littlest ways. I hope that you all can find it in your hearts to give a little and help me achieve my dreams. Love Brianna
