Brianna & Samuels Family Hurricane Relief

This fundraiser is launched by Cliff and Rachael Wilson from Belize Sailing Vacations. A week ago Belize was hit by Hurricane Lisa as a strong category 1 hurricane 10 miles south of Belize City. While the islands and south mostly fared well considering, Belize City and surrounding areas suffered tremendous damage. The BSV crew and fleet is safe, well and already operational on charters, having relocated briefly to Guatemala, however it is with sad news that we share that some of our dear BSV family endured major losses.

The Samuels Family (Sherman, Brianna, Jamieka and JR) are tremendous folks who you may have met on the dock in their roles in our Shore Ops team, or you may have even enjoyed having Brianna as your chef and 1st mate on your charter. The Samuels Family are at the heart of BSV and we have arranged a GoFundMe page to help them build back from their losses.

Brianna lost her entire house, which fell to the ground and flooded. She had been building her home for 2 years, with her Dad doing the construction in his spare time and had just moved into her new home in July. Jamieka lost her roof completely and JR's house flooded, plus also had damages to the roof. Sherman's farm also lost hundreds of established fruit trees, which was his labour of love for countless years.
