In Memory of Brian Hart Schwartz
It was just a little over six years ago on February 18th that we lost a friend, brother, son, grandson and boyfriend to one of his many passions, skiing. After Brian's passing, his fellow members of the Masco Ski Team created 'BHS' stickers to wear on their helmets in Brian's honor. As the years have gone by, I am constantly reminded and have felt protected by the 'BHS' sticker that I proudly wear on my ski helmet. I know every time the east coast gets a big snowfall or I have a great day at the mountain, Brian has had something to do with it.
This Christmas, I found myself with a brand new helmet but with no 'BHS' sticker to put on it. As I had worn one for the past six years, it just didn't feel quite right going on a ski trip without this sticker. This inspired me to design a new and improved 'BHS' sticker.
For those of you who did not know him, I think Brian's high school golf coach, Ben Hodges, describes him best.
"Very few people come in to our lives that leave a lasting footprint on our hearts and minds. These people not only have a positive influence over us, but they help shape the very fabric of who we are.
This individual was Brian Schwartz.
No
matter how you describe him, his love for others will have a lasting
impression on me and everyone that was blessed to have known him. His
"other"-serving attitude is a reminder to us of how we should treat one
another. His selflessness and willingness to see the positive in all
things and in all people was truly a gift from above that has been
passed on to all those that knew Brian."
Brian's full name is Brian Hart Schwartz. So in honor of his middle name but mostly his attitude towards life, I created this sticker in the shape of a heart.
