Briane Harris

On February 15, 2024, at the Scottie’s Tournament of Hearts in Calgary, Briane Harris’ curling career came to an unexpected halt. The long-time lead for Team Einarson was notified by World Curling that a trace amount of a banned substance was found during an out-of-competition doping test that was taken at the end of January. This news came as a complete shock to Briane, her family and all of her supporters. From there came an abundance of unexpected costs including appeal fees, legal fees, testing fees and more. The financial hardship on top of the emotional distress lasted 11 months until her complete innocence was recognized in January of 2025. Although Briane was elated to be found innocent with "No Fault or Negligence" for the anti-doping rule violation, she and her family are left to pick up the pieces of this absolute nightmare of a year.
