You know Bri as an efficient accounting professional, mother, Jeep connoissuer, dog parent (her elderly pug mix Julia is the star in her eyes), world traveler, terrifying Halloween costumer, and friend who is always ready to share a laugh.
All these things have remained true through Bri’s lung cancer diagnosis. She only received her diagnosis in 2019 by pushing doctors who insisted her symptoms were caused by Lyme and allergies. Once she knew what was going on, Bri actively pursued treatments, including multiple rounds of chemo, and has maintained a positive attitude throughout.
Unfortunately chemotherapy has not been able to slow her cancer’s spread, and Bri has since suffered two strokes, debilitating to her physical movement, speech, and cognitive ability.
Bri has come home from the hospital to be cared for by her family, her closest friend, and a visiting nurse. Even with health insurance and support from hospice, her care is costing $3,500 out of pocket per week. Our initial goal is to cover one month of care (September 2020). If you’re able to help monetarily, please do so to relieve the financial strain for Bri’s family. They are already working long hours on the practical and logistical elements of care.
If financial support is not possible, you can help by visiting Bri to cheer her (she’s living in Mahopac), or by delivering prepared vegetarian food.
Bri is surrounded by loving family: her sister Nicole and Nicole’s three children, her brother and father, both named Ray, her son Nick, his spouse Jess, and their children Jackson and Griffin. Her dear friend Colleen is also very involved in her daily care.
