Brian's Cancer Fight
Donation protected
Brian was diagnosed in September of 2018 with cancer; stage III mucosal melanoma which has developed as a tumor growing in his nasal/sinus cavity. He has been undergoing immunotherapy the past few months to fight the cancer and underwent surgery mid-December to remove the tumor. The immunotherapy and surgery went well with a few setbacks, but he is on his way to winning his fight!
Brian is fortunate to live in Dallas, TX which is relatively close to Houston (4-hour drive) to receive the absolute best treatment in the world at MD Anderson Cancer Center for this extremely rare cancer -- he is happy to make the journey back and forth as needed to see his unbelievable team of specialists. As you might imagine, insurance deductibles, copays, and travel expenses, with possible extended stays required in Houston can add up while Brian continues his hard fight to beat this. His spirit is high and he hasn’t lost sight of what’s important in life; family, friends, God, and always a sense of humor. His wife Sara continues to head up the home and manage their two young ones while picking up substitute teaching jobs to help cover expenses.
After he wins this first round, Brian will require very close monitoring over the next few years with many visits to Houston that will include brain MRIs and full body PET scans to ensure early detection if the cancer should return. Any amount contributed will be greatly appreciated and Brian and his family are forever grateful to friends and family who have offered all types of support and love, making his journey very special.
