Backing Brian's Medical Battle

Donation protected
As many of you have heard, my father, Brian Breese, is undergoing some major health issues. He has a perforated bowel from diverticulitis. He had an infection in his colon that was so bad it caused it to rupture. It became pretty serious because it means nasty waste and bacteria leaked into his abdomen. After a week of taking high dosages of antibiotics to help fight the bacteria off, dad became super sick and started throwing up constantly. We then found out that he had an obstruction in his bowel that was causing him to get super sick. After running some more tests, they found that not only does he have all of this going on, he also has a baseball size "mass" growing around and inside of his left kidney.

Brian had his first emergency surgery yesterday, 8/26, to get his bowel under control. The surgery went as smooth as it possibly could have. When things weren't getting any better and his white blood cell count sky rocketed, the doctors made an executive decision to do a major surgery. As of 8/31, dad went into surgery where they removed large sections of dead and damaged bowel and put a colostomy bag. They assured that this is temporary and he won't have to have it for life. They mentioned that they are glad they went forward with this because it was so severe that it would have killed him.

The pathology results came back and Also, received pathology back on kidney and he has renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer). Doctors will address this after everything else settles down and Dad gets time to recover.

This is just the beginning of many surgeries yet to come. He is currently in recover right now and is still in a lot of pain and is hungry. We do not know how many surgeries he will have to undergo.

If you know my father, then you know that he is the most kind, generous, humorous, stubborn, hard working gent around. He would do anything for anyone at the drop of a pen. He is always making new friends and talking to strangers when waiting in line. He brings light and humor everywhere he goes. Brian also works his butt off, never taking vacation. He is an amazing human, father, husband, son, and friend that anyone could ask for.

With all this being said, we do not know how much the medical bills will cost. With my dad not working and my mom bringing in the only income, finances will become tight. A lot of people have asked what they could do to help and during these times I know so many people, including us, feel like we can't do anything.

So as a family, we would like to start raising some money to help cover costs. This will be a long road for my father and we want to make sure he rides it out and comes out of it all healthy and recovered!

Most importantly, we ask for prayers, positive energy, and continued thoughts for Brian and his health journey. We appreciate anything that you can give, whether that be a prayer, a warm hug, and/or some donations.

Thank you all so so much, we love you!
