Brian needs our help. It has been many years since I have seen Brian. Many of us know him for his large smile and even larger laugh. We all have challenges in our life, some larger than others. Brian was diagnosed with Erdheim-Chester Disease ( www.ecd.org) in 2012 . The typical life expectancy of this illness is 3-5 years, but Brian is hopeful that he will outlive this prognosis with God's help, experimental therapies, and the help of family and friends.
A few weeks ago we had our 30 year high school reunion and I spent some time talking with Brian. We talked about his family, his wife and two boys 13 and 11. His positive energy and great speech he gave that night left many of us thinking how we could help. Brian has been excercising over the last 3 months to build his muscles up. He started out in a wheel chair and then a walker. He went to the doctor without either of these at his last visit. He needs to get even stronger and that is where the bike comes into the story. Brian will be able to ride this bike-recumbant style and build his strength. More importantly it will give him some freedom, something he currently does not have.
I dont normally do these kinds of things but this is VERY important to him and he needs OUR HELP. The bike is pricey at $2300, but he can use it and needs it. I hope to raise this money very quickly so he can still use it this year. We need your help. When you first read this take some time to donate. I know we are all busy, so lets not let this slip thru the cracks.
