To know Brian is to love Brian. He is my Dad, a brother, a son and most of all a friend who would do anything for anyone. Always with a smile, a positive word and a lending hand, all with a bounce in his step.
This all started back in April of 2020. After several trips to the doctors, many weeks in the hospital over 3 stays, 9 C-scans, 3 infections, 2 operations, a colonoscopy we finally had an answer in September. What was thought to be a simple appendectomy turned out to be a missed diagnosis of colon cancer. The doctors were able to remove all of the tumor and the affected lymph nodes but Brian would still need 6 months of chemotherapy.
Through all this Brian tried to work his construction job but due to the pain, weakness and infections, he was unable. Now while he is having chemotherapy some days are good, a lot are not. This has him unable to work steady for almost 10 months now.
If you know Brian you know he is a high energy guy. This has really taken him back a step or two. He has tried very hard to support himself through this with odd jobs in between treatments and help from family but it is getting too difficult. Chemotherapy is unfortunately unpredictable. Allergic reactions, low blood cell counts and other complications have caused delays pushing him out to May now.
So my family is asking you for your help. Whatever you can give will be greatly appreciated. As always please keep Brian in your prayers for his quick recovery.
Thank you, Steven Thomas
