UPDATE:
After 9 months of healing and praying that the sepsis goes away.... Brian's slated for hopefully the last huge surgery on December 14th. Unfortunately, the right hip/femur is not healing and in addition to getting the antibiotic spacer out and the actual prosthetic hip inserted, he is now needing a rod to be secured from knee to hip. This has been a very trying time (I'll spare you the details) and we are hopeful that once this surgery happens and heals that he can get back to his life. The recovery time will be 6 months of non-weight bearing/no driving so Brian's journey is far from over. Many of you have reached out asking for an update and I wanted to say thank you again for the love. Brian has been in Juneau and living at the float house. Not sure where he will end up in recovery but will keep you posted.

Thank you to everybody for being so loving…
As of today Brian has experienced the worse case of worse cases. In last 90 days....He has now been through 6 surgeries due to his double hip infection (most likely from dirty OR), 7 blood transfusions, has now had 4 hip replacements, both femurs broken to remove the original hardware, and will be in hospital/rehab facility for foreseeable future we wait for 3 months then he gets one more hip replacement (at least) and will be on a long road to surviving this. Please know how grateful we are to everyone. We are definitely not rich with money but rich with family/love. Xoxoxo

Original post:
We feel awkward reaching out for help but my husband Brian has had a wild 12 months including 4 surgeries and hasn't been able to work (thank the heavens for our insurance!!!)
Last March Brian had been experiencing pain for quite a while and ended up being diagnosed with severe stenosis and got emergency spinal surgery!
Then while in hospitals the Drs realized he had stage 4 osteoarthritis in both hips! Brian underwent first hip surgery in Dec and second in late January.
After three weeks of healing he started to not feel well and ultimately was medivac'd to Seattle from Alaska over the weekend with sepsis (staph infection that was in his bloodstream)! He's stabilized today thank the heavens.
He went through a forth surgery this weekend to clean out hip of the infection and is currently in a great deal of pain and discomfort.
I am here by his side and we are waiting for all the good news that we need to get discharged back to Alaska! Our boys and dog pack are being cared for by family, friends, and nannies. Thank you to everyone.
Once discharged, he will be on 6 weeks on picc line antibiotics and then a year of oral antibiotics with weekly monitoring and treatment by in home care nurses. We almost lost him....
Brian is overall healthy and will pull through this in time! Dr said he can not work or jeopardize this significant healing process. We will continue to pray that there are no further complications which are possible but we are hoping that it's unlikely (my goodness we've had a rough few years)!
Brian is humble and private so I'm glad he is open to this support. We would be grateful for any love, support, and prayers you can send us!!! All donations will support travel needs back and forth to Seattle and ongoing bills and bills that have accrued during the past year.
Some people have said they don't like go fund me so if you'd rather donate through Venmo here is my account @bobbiejo-skibo
You have no idea how grateful we are to have family and friends rally around us! Much love!!!!
