Help us Bring Brian home from the hospital.
After more than 4 months in the Neuro Critical Care Unit, we can finally take Brian home. We are raising funds to help prepare the bedroom in his own home into a safe and medically functioning room so he can be around family and close friends, at the same time help generate to pay for his pending and ongoing medical bills and doctors fee.
As many of you know, our dear Brian had a massive stroke which caused a pontine bleed (part of the brain stem) and swelling in his brain. His prognosis at that time was so bad and we all thought that we were going to lose him. But the fighter in him refused to give up. After 2 surgeries including the doctors putting a VP shunt to relieve the pressure in the brain caused by fluid accumulation (hydrocephalus), he is still with us today. The blood in his brain is completely gone now and he is slowly stabilizing. Because the bleed was in his pons, this affected his breathing and he is currently being supported by a machine to breath. Also, due to being in bed for so long with no voluntary movements from the neck down, he sustained significant muscle wasting which we are hoping will improve with some therapy. We have been advised that despite his current condition, it would be best that we bring him home so he does not get any more infections that can normally be acquired in a hospital setting which could worsen his condition. This could also greatly help lessen the medical expenses.
Your donations of love will be used for the following:
● Rental of Medical Equipment:
- Mechanical Ventilator
- Suction Pump
- Oxygen tank
- Pulse Oximeter
- Nebulizer
● Medical Supplies
● Medicines
● Assistance in Medical Professional fees for Nurses / Caregivers (2 Shifts to cover 24 hours)
● Pending Hospital bills and Doctor fees to allow us to discharge from the hospital - We currently still owe the hospital and the doctors for their services since the more than 4 months stay have already depleted our finances and he does not have an HMO to help cover the expenses. After paying off the hospital bills, we are hoping that any remaining amount will help sustain for Brians care for about 4-5 months to give us time to find other means to support Brian's long term care.
Brian has always been the type of guy who goes out of his way to help others, always putting them before himself. And since the start of this journey, we have been so surprised at the number of people who have approached us to tell us great stories of how he has quietly touched their lives in so many ways.
And these are the reasons why the world still needs Brian and why we are reaching to everyone to help us keep him alive.
We would like to thank you in advance for being part of Brians Journey to healing and for helping us share his story of courage, love and faith.
Leave a message of encouragement in the comments section if you can, so we can read them to brian to help keep his fighting spirit up.
Join us in his miracle journey to healing
