Hello, my name is Sally Ross, many know me as either Sally Mari/Sally/Mari/Rose and I am oldest daughter of my father, Brian Ross. My father recently passed away on March 26, 2023 from multi-organ failure in a public hospital in Ormoc City, Leyte in the Philippines. Ultimately, his heart gave out. We were all devastated by the sudden loss of my father who was also a son, a brother and someone’s child, especially after my grandmother - his mother passed away just a month ago. He is survived by his wife, Salvacion Ross and six children.
My father worked as an editor for Turlock Journal in the 1990s briefly. He was also a reporter for the Lodi News Sentinel. For a few years, he worked as a tour guide and translator in San Francisco for Japanese tourists and such since he was fluent. He had a great love for languages and an even greater love for his family and for his canine companions. My father also briefly served in the Marines, he was medically discharged due to a knee injury.
We were not prepared for the high cost of funeral arrangements and we wanted to send him off with a lovely farewell. However, the funeral home is requesting the full payment prior to his scheduled burial and if we don’t come up with it, they will not bury him. We want to honor his memory and say our last good-byes. I am the only child currently living in the U.S. and due to the cost of flying internationally, we are requesting donations to help cover airfare so that I will be able to reach my family and bring my siblings together so that we can mourn our father. Any monies remaining after funeral expenses and such will help provide for my family, due to the loss of income and additional expenses. Our family would really appreciate anyone that shares or donates for this cause. Thank you kindly for taking the time to read this. We are so grateful for any help that is provided.
