Hello, my name is Morgan; this is a story of GOD’s Miracle and my dad.

Over the past two years my dad, Brian, has been in and out of the hospital with heart and blood issues, open heart surgeries, endocarditis, and other complications.

On Jan 6th, 2019 he was admitted into the CCU where he coded and was sent into emergency surgery. The diagnosis was endocarditis (his second time), acute renal and respiratory failure. Over the course of two complicated, combined, 12-hour surgeries the skilled surgeons performed a complete aorta root rebuild, intensive grafts to the heart wall, and another double bypass. He also had his second aorta valve replacement and a mitral valve repair. The infection compromised the tissues of almost every structure of his heart.  My dad coded on the operating table for a second time. We were told that he wasn't expected to make it through surgery and only a 10 percent rate of survival through the night.  After days in the ICU on a ventilator and sedated he slowly recovered. He is now home with a home health team and undergoing an 8-week antibiotic infusion treatment. His heart function is at 25-30% and he remains in AFIB. My dad will never be able to work in his field again. He will be monitored and on antibiotics for the rest of his life.

I would like to say; it is by the grace of God that my dad is alive today. The power of prayer truly performed miracles. The hospital staff did everything in their power to save him. For all of these things, I am forever grateful.

I am now faced with the reality that after everything settles, people forget; it is our nature and we move on.  My dad and stepmom do not like to ask for help, but they need it more than ever. I will not go into the hospital debt details but the amount for the IV antibiotic infusions alone is astronomical.  I am asking for your donation for their living expenses and hospital bills. Because of the extended hospital stays (28 days in the last three months) and long recovery times over the last fifteen months their savings have been depleted. Although he should be able to receive disability, it may be months before he receives anything and as I said earlier, life moves on and daily expenses have to be covered.

My dad needed a miracle to live and he did just that, but the road to recovery is a long one.  If your heart moves you to donate, it is appreciated beyond words.
