I have become one of the casualties of the pandemic lockdown and I need your help.
Like many in the Entertainment Industry, I have always lived on the edge financially. Every dollar I made making films went right back into the next.
The pandemic created a perfect storm for me: Lockdown, unemployment, travel bans, and depleted savings. I have not been able to find employment in time to keep me in my current residence. I’ve tried every grant and government program available for financial assistance and have not received any – most of the programs dried up early.
My apartment lease is up in March and I can’t renew because I have no more money for rent. If my financial situation does not change then come March I lock the door, leaving everything behind. This is not hyperbole, it’s just the facts.
I do have one hope, and this is where I need your contributions.
I have been offered a job and a place to live… but it is in the UK. I must come up with $8,500 before mid-February 2021 to pay for a necessary Work Visa and the expenses behind it.
This is the breakdown of the money (as of 12/28/2020):
Work Visa 3,500 pounds $4,745.12
Expedite Fee 500 pounds $677.87
NHS Buy-In 1,200 pounds $1,626.90
Bank Deposit 945 pounds $1,281.18
Taxes & Fees 125 pounds $169.93
This is, obviously, the worst time I could reach out for money. I get that. But I am desperate and need to at least try.
If you are strapped because things are scary right now, PLEASE DON’T CONTRIBUTE.
