2022 has been a heartbreaking year that has wiped out an entire household. Brian Moore, and his wife Kim Moore lived in North Carolina with their found family member James Hunt, and even provided home medical care for him during his final years until this January when he passed. Then, tragedy struck as Kim became suddenly ill and died in the hospital. Brian, beset by large medical and funeral bills, moved out of his house and had just started another job, but all the change, stress, and loss were too much, and on July 20, he died of a brain aneurysm. His loss was a shock to many as it was unexpected and swift.

Brian Moore was a father and a husband. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Brian had a career in IBM's server department until it was bought out by Lenovo, which promptly outsourced his job to India, creating financial hardship for the family. He was an all-around great guy. He tried to help people as much as he could and was a mentor to many who asked for it. His Cherokee heritage was important to him.

Brian also loved great stories, science fiction, and roleplaying games. He was an active member of David Weber's Honor Harrington book fan club, The Royal Manticorian Navy. In addition, Brian helped run a roleplaying community with me called Star Army, where he created an alien species with a complex culture and language. He was a brainy guy who was super creative and a lot of fun. It's hard to believe he's gone.

In the wake of Brian's passing, he and Kim are survived by their two sons Andrew and Brandon, who are now in the position of picking up the pieces as they mourn. They need our help.

My name is Wes Davis and I'm organizing this fundraiser in memory of my best friend Brian Moore. All donations will go directly to his son Andrew, to help him cover his funeral costs and any bills that accrue from his dad's passing. Thank you so much for your support during this difficult year.
