Brian Marker Benefit

Happy New Year all! As our family enters 2024, we are thankful for all God has given us, especially Brian as he recovers from an Aortic Aneurysm. Back in September he was diagnosed with a 7.5cm Aortic Anuerysm. For those that are not aware, this is basically a balloon in the main artery that supplies blood to your entire body. Typically after 5cm, surgery is considered emergent. He was life-flighted to UNMC and spent several days in the Cardiac Unit. Due to the severity of his case, the UNMC physicians allowed him to return home because they needed to schedule this surgery with numerous physicians, so until December 15th, they monitored him closely and at 5am on December 15th he began to be prepared for surgery. The prep alone took over 3 hours. At 12:10am, December 16th, surgery was complete and doctors were happy with the results! Sunday, December 17th, Brian suffered strokes that affected his left side and vision. Later in the week he developed a blood clot and pneumonia. He is slowly regaining function of his left side, as the neurologist was certain would happen, however, vision recovery is unknown at this time. He is working with an neurological ophthalmologist, but has a long way to go and will continue his recovery at Madonna. We are asking for any donations to assist Brian through his recovery with medical bills and basic everyday bills that continue to accrue as he is hospitalized. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
