Update 8/20/2023
Coming to you with good news again. Brian was moved from ICU to PCU yesterday. He’s walking, talking, eating and drinking. Physically, he’s doing great. Brian did sustain a brain injury and while he’s showing great progress, he has more healing ahead of him. He goes from being coherent and understanding to a bit a feisty and confused. But overall, the dr is pleased with his progress. He’s been surrounded by great medical staff and supportive loved ones. All of your love and support shows him he’s got quite the village behind him and his family
Update 8/17/2023
BIG Update! Brian is off the ventilator and does not need any further assistance breathing. Yesterday morning was a little rough but Brian powered through. He has an afternoon of no visitors to allow him to rest. When they got back last night, Brian was WALKING the hall. He’s taking it slow but he’s doing it. He didn’t want to get right back into bed so he relaxed in the chair for a while. His speech is currently slow but is progressing. He is in a lot of pain but he is showing that place his Mallo Strong.
Update 8/16/2023
Brian spent 4 days sedated to give his body and brain time to heal. He has had wins each day. He will not need any surgery at this time. His sedation was lowered to start the process of him waking up. They are taking it slow which is best for him. Last night, he opened his eyes and was somewhat responsive. He still has his breathing tube in. The hope is to remove it today but if they cannot, they will but a tracheotomy in. He is in a lot of pain but is physically doing well.
The thoughts, well wishes and concern for Brian’s recovery mean a lot to his family but please be mindful in reaching out to Julie and the kids so they can put their energy into Brian and his recovery. Brian also needs his rest so visitors are limited to immediate family, we do not want to overwhelm him. We promise to update when we can

My name is Lacy, Brian’s cousin. I am raising money to support Brian Mallo and his family. He was in a motorcycle accident overnight hours of August 12th. He has extensive injuries and unfortunately no health insurance. His known injuries right now are a fractured neck, broken back, broken rib that punctured his lung, damaged spleen, significant road rash and injuries to his head. He was Mercy Flighted to ICU in Great Falls and is fighting hard to stay with us. Brian has always been a great provider for his family so his absence from work is also going to impact his family. Please help support him by donating. The money will go to his medical bills and to support him and his family through what will be a long recovery.
