Brian Jenkins: Road To Lung Transplantation
Hi family/friends/community,
My name is Brian Jenkins and I am on a journey to a double lung transplantation surgery. I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis in 1992 while serving in Germany for the United States Army. I continued on with life in its early stages but it has now progressed to end stage Sarcoidosis thus requiring me to need a double lung transplantation. In 2018, my lungs collapsed on 3 occasions in a matter of months which caused me to stop working definitely. I spent June, July, and August in and out of the hospital. It was a pretty rough transition for myself and family. My medical bills are being taken care of but I still need help with funding for my wife, Penny. She continues to remain at my side as my primary caregiver. After surgery, I will need to stay in close proximity of Emory Hospital for 3-9 months to be sure that my lungs are functioning properly. The costs for gas, lodging, and food is what we need help with as we partner with the Georgia Transplant Foundation to cover those expenses.
We are asking our family and friends to help us to get through this part of our journey by donating whatever God lays on your heart to give.
We thank you and we love you all.
